Oggl App Reviews

Using iOS 7 on a 5s, Im not experiencing any of the crashing issues mentioned in the other reviews. I used to use Hipstamatic a lot, but I find myself using Oggl more now. I like the freedom of being able to switch films and lenses after Ive taken the shot. I dont lose as many shoots trying to flip through equipment and favourites now. I can concentrate on just taking a good shot instead of trying to remember what all the film/lens combos look like. Im not a fan of the import from camera roll either, but the imported photos are labelled as such, so its easy to make sure you only favourite the pure photos. I also think the deleting process could be improved, at the moment you have to go through one at a time instead of being able to select them from the grid/gallery view. I did have an issue when using my olloclip fisheye lens that customer service was quickly able to help me with. Turned out to be user ignorance actually: the viewfinder is off center from the actual camera lens and the olloclip housing was taking up a good portion of one side of my photos. I emailed customer service, Allen was quick to respond and informed me that I could move the photo around and reframe by accessing the cropping function in the editing window. Easy fix, and I was also informed that they are aware of the issue so Im guessing it will be addressed in a future update. Even though I think theres still a few improvements to be made, I gave 5 stars; Really good product that has improved with each update as well as fantastic customer service earns that extra star from me.

I recently changed from an iPhone 5 to the 5S and had to manually redownload all of my lenses and films. Its a bit of a drag and something that I hope can be improved in the future. Also, its having trouble syncing with my Facebook account. The app is nice but a little buggy and unintuitive.

Just updated to the new version and I tested it and its crashed!! Not a good sign. Lots of new features in the update though.

This app has truly opened up my world and changed the way I see it. Along with being a great photography app youll find an amazing community of talented photographers from all over the world. The developers are very involved in the community and are right there for support whenever needed. Thanks for the great update!

The update is certainly an improvement to the most artistic photo community out there.

The app keeps getting better and better! :) I enjoy sharing photos through the oggl app. There are much more choices with a film and lens to do a shoot. One small issue is that the app crashes once in a while. Keep up with updates to make it better and run smoother.

After updating to the newest version, every time I want to edit a photo by switching individual lens/film, the effect takes forever to load. The spinning circle loading thingy took about 15 seconds to show up. This makes post editing impossible. For some reason switching combos isnt affected by this issue though. Cant tolerate this huge bug!! In addition the same old crashing still occurs for me as well.

Glad to see the developer is making some major improvement. But the App crashes way too often in the current version.

Its a great idea but it CRASHES every time I try to click on add collection…and just about anytime it feels like! :S

Love the idea, and the implementation is generally good.

Constantly locks up on my iPad mini to the point where its essentially useless.

Why is it that after importing the lenses from Hipsta account they dont work on oggl?!

It wont let me creat account saying that I need a email and I put a email in the box for it

Keeps on popping a password entering screen. Please fix it. Im finding that my subscription was not that worth it if I need to keep deleting and reinstalling the app.

Downloaded this app last night to see what its all about. Its a good concept - the design is unique - but I feel it is less simplistic than the original Hipstamatic app. Since downloading - and after importing my items from the original app - this app continues to crash. Especially during the movement of the focus. Hipstamatic will still remain the sole reason why I stick to an iPhone. Nothing beats the original app. - avid iPhonographer
